What began as a small, focused team with no expectation of large-scale growth has evolved into a dynamic organization supporting complex missions across the globe.
Yet, one thing has never changed:
A commitment to people, purpose, and doing meaningful work that makes an impact. That original vision still guides Sawdey today—now expanded to embrace innovation, growth, and the future of our industry.
We asked Connie and Jeff Sawdey, “When you founded Sawdey 25 years ago, what vision did you have for the company, and how has that vision evolved over time?” Here was their response:
When we founded Sawdey 25 years ago, the vision was to build a company grounded in integrity, expertise, people-focused, and a commitment to delivering meaningful value to our customers. Our vision was to serve our government customers while providing a better place for our employees to support the mission. It certainly was not a big plan. Originally, the thought was to create a company of about 30-40 people. Never did we expect to grow the way we did. We just knew we could provide exceptional customer service at a better price and take better care of the employees in the process.
Over time, that vision has evolved alongside the industry and the needs of our clients. While our capabilities have expanded and the environments we operate in have become more complex, our core purpose has remained consistent. We’ve grown from a small, focused team, into a dynamic organization with broader reach and deeper expertise, all while staying true to the principles that guided us from day one.
Today, the vision is both a continuation and an expansion of what we started, continuing to deliver excellence and trusted support, while also embracing innovation, developing our people, and positioning Sawdey for the future. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how that original idea has grown into something that continues to make a difference.
