We are proud to recognize Scott Powell for his outstanding contribution to a major NATO Tradecraft Conference held at NATO Headquarters in Brussels — the first joint event between IPU and NIFC, drawing more than one hundred senior analysts from across the Alliance. Scott presented a history of his visualizations, sharing how they were developed and demonstrating the critical role of strong design in producing impactful and effective intelligence products.
Scott’s presentation was extremely well received, further underscoring the unique value he brings to NIFC’s mission and highlighting his place among a very small, specialized group of visual design professionals across US and UK personnel who support this work. His continued collaboration with other intelligence designers has been strongly encouraged, and plans are already underway for a future joint gathering of the wider design community—potentially hosted by UK Defence Intelligence in London.
We extend our appreciation to Scott for representing Sawdey with excellence and for the significant influence he continues to have on NIFC tradecraft. His expertise, professionalism, and commitment enhance our team’s capabilities and strengthen partnerships across the NATO enterprise. Keep up the incredible work, Scott!
